i'm done with the day thing. i am not good at counting days.

anyway, i know this hasn't been updated in a while. mainly because not much has been happening here. a lot of people have gone back to their homes, so its just been really quiet. 

but Merryn and I managed to go out on the evening of the day before CNY started to watch some sort of Korean traditional performance. it was an eye-opener and i'm glad Merryn found out about it. it was free and it was really good. it was line-up of different kinds of performances, no idea what the names are but it generally included their traditional instruments which were similar to Chinese ones and drums. i was mesmerized especially by the sound of the flute. it sounded kind of wheezy at first but when you get used to that, it sounds beautiful. 

here's a taste of the ending performance. not much and kinda shaky but i really liked the atmosphere they created. when they ended, they moved out to the waiting area outside and people just started joining in and dancing along. it was kinda cool.

 it was a really good experience and i guess this is one the things you must experience in a foreign country; their traditional performances.

we had our version of lou sang for dinner that night known as 비빔밥 만두 (bibimbap mandu). again, thanks to Merryn for bringing me to the place where they served this. its quite unique where they deep fry the dumpling skins and you use it to wrap the vegetables you'd find in bibimbap and eat em together. :D it was yummy and that wraps up (pun intended) our CNY in Korea.

this is it for now. i'm really looking forward to spring and hopefully, more adventurous adventures. ^^

Hello, i'm back again. yes, i know you want to hear from the other two but i guess i'm much too enthusiastic. :D

well, the one week has passed. we have worked our shifts in the cafe, gone for classes, met new friends and talked (!) with many many people. we have all gotten our 'buddies' and personally, i'm looking forward to a great time of talking with them. ^^

now here's the exciting part! we managed to go to the Busan International Film Festival before it ended. :D all thanks to a guy who interviewed me for his assignment and we got to talking about the film festival. we met up in Somyeon and he brought us over to the where it is. 

I had a good time especially being able to get a chance to see this place in the midst of the film festival. we watched a movie called A Werewolf Boy starring Song Joong Ki and PArk Bo Young. and yes, the cast were present before the movie was showed to greet us. too bad we were sitting too far away to see anything but the outline of them. :/ p.s. Joong Ki was/is so good-looking! :D

the building is magnificent. the roof with the LED lights is so pretty. not just that, but the whole design of the place is very creative. apparently there's another theater at the rooftop. 

now, Saturday was shopping day. man, did we do a lot of that. i, myself bought two tops, a pair of shoes, a pair of pants and some cosmetics. haha. but it was good. ^^ we went to Pusan Intl' Univ. or also called Pusandae. 

we stopped by at the Charlie Brown Cafe for some tea and rest.

After a very successful and tiring day, we headed back to Sasang to have our dinner at a eat-all-you-can buffet for a very affordable price. lots of meat over there!

with wallets empty and stomachs full, we headed home after a whole day out feeling satisfied and ready to hit to bed. (:

Yes, we have arrived!
Joan here reporting live from my room in Silla University, Busan, South Korea.

the trip here was exhausting; about 6 hours flight to Incheon Airport, waited for another 2 hours before boarding a one-hour flight to Gimhae Aiport in Busan. 

we were all pretty zoned out and starving when we reached. :/ Mr Choi and Mr Kim picked us up from the airport and drove us to the university. it was a 20 minutes drive over and we met with Mr Yun soon after. he briefed us on the program and other related stuff. then, we headed over to the bank to get our bank accounts. 

we got back, were introduced to the people at the English cafe, had lunch with one of them, Sopheak and headed to our dorms after that. we were so tired but i don't think any of us managed to catch a nap after unpacking and bathing though. 

we were briefed by Nay and the other two Cambodians working at the cafe and after that, we went to 사상 to have dinner. 

the top picture was our dinner. it was gooood~ it was a big bowl of pork ribs(?) and i forgot the name in korean but yea, it made the cold night warmer. ^^ we went shopping after that for necessities and went back to our dorms for a good night sleep. 

this morning, Merryn and I went for breakfast in the cafeteria and despite some struggle with the language, we managed to have our breakfast. :D

after breakfast, we took a walk around the campus.

the weather was really good and it was quite tiring actually, felt like a hike with the up and down roads.  but the scenery was amazing and the air is refreshing.
